![]() She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Raymond, and children David (Anne) Wormuth of Fabius, NY, Susan Mulcahey (Frank Zurschmit) of Palm Coast, FL, Patricia (Andrew) Brandler of St. Shirley and Ray enjoyed traveling globally when younger, but traveling yearly to the beloved Royal Islander Club in Sint Maarten was what they looked forward to most.Shirley dearly loved her 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She was the organizer and avid participant of football pools and card games with her dear neighbors for many years. She was an accomplished golfer, who won awards at local courses. She was employed at the Syracuse Bearing Company, the United States Government at Fort Belvoir, and the Morrisville-Eaton School District.Shirley enjoyed crochet, knitting, sewing, and other crafting. On Octoshe was united in marriage to Raymond E Wormuth. Shirley graduated from Minoa High School in 1952. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, Februat 10:30 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. Calling hours will be held Monday, Februfrom 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Holy Family Secular Franciscans or Holy Family Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Tender Loving Care and Hospice for the care they provided. Over the past 20 years Shirley donated hundreds of crocheted baby blankets through the Franciscan’s to local hospitals and women centers. ![]() She had many hobbies, the greatest of which was crocheting baby blankets. Shirley was a member of Holy Family Secular Franciscan Order. Also 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. From these blessings, grandchildren, Larry, Diane, Jeremy, Sierra, Shaun, Brian, Erin, Amanda, Natasha, Nikeshia, Michael and Steph. She was blessed with daughters Betty, Linda, Susan, Mary, Judy and Nancy. ![]() Shirley married James A Witchley on November 30, 1957. For a large majority of her nursing career Shirley was employed by Rome DDSO, from which she retired in 1997 as a nurse administer. She then graduated from Utica School of Nursing and went on to enjoy a long career in nursing that spanned over 45 years. Shirley graduated from Brookfield High School in 1953. Shirley was born on November 20, 1935, in Canaan, Conn, the daughter of Edward & Myrtle Plows sister to Charles, James, Alton, Sidney, Robert, John and George. Vernon-Shirley (Plows) Witchley of Vernon passed peacefully at home on Monday evening, February 5, 2024.
